How do I read it?
Each line plot shows the performance of an indicator from January 1, 2006 to present. The name of the indicator follows a small blue box above the plot. The latest value and its reference period is listed in the bottom left corner of the plot area. Below each chart is a brief listing of the source/method, but most importantly, a link to the actual data.
How is it made?
I hope to add the code to this site at some point, but the short answer is: data is collected and cleaned with Stata and read by a .tex file. Integral to the process is FRED, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Economic Data, which contains hundreds of thousands of time series. Quandl is also critical, and is used as the source of much of the data. PGFplots is the LaTeX package that creates the plots.
